Description:
The Institute for Women and Technology in Palo Alto, CA presents the fourth Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing 2002 to be held October 9-12, 2002 at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada.
The Grace Hopper conference is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront.
The power-packed agenda, a handy list of educational and technical resources for women in technology, and a short profile of some of the remarkable women you'll meet at the conference are presented in these PDA programs for Pocket PC and Palm OS devices.
Please download, enjoy, and share them with your colleagues via e-mail or a quick infrared beam!
This year's Grace Hopper conference features three outstanding keynote speakers:
- Leah Jamieson of Purdue University and co-founder of EPICS,
- Judith Estrin, an entrepreneur and one of Silicon Valley's top executives, and
- Fran Berman, Director of the San Diego Supercomputer Center, among many other things!
Admiral Grace Hopper may stick in our minds as an unforgettable white-haired lady in a Navy uniform who coined the term "debug".
What's more, Grace Hopper was a great and innovative teacher, mathematician, computer scientist and pioneer. Over the course of her career, Admiral Hopper held positions in the military, private industry, business, and academe.
Read up on the amazing Grace Hopper and you'll see that it's no surprise that wherever she went, she was regarded as one of the most incisive, strategic "futurists" in the world of computing.
Visit www.gracehopper.org for more information on Grace Hopper and please join us in Vancouver for an inspiring, forward-thinking few days at the 4th Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing!
