Description:
Mergic Ping is a Palm OS implementation of the UNIX PING program.

It was written as a support tool for Mergic VPN but, since it is generally useful for testing TCP/IP connections, it is being released as a free program.

Features:

• The host to ping can be specified as an IP address or DNS name.
• Pings can be configured to stop after a number of packets, a number of seconds or a Cancel button is pressed. The default is to stop after 4 packets.
• The time to wait between sending pings can be specified in seconds or to flood the host as fast as responses are received. The default is to send a ping every second.
• Packets can be filled with zeros, random characters or a custom pattern of up to 16 characters. The default is to fill packets with zeros.
• The size of the ping packets can be specified. The default size is 32 bytes.
• The maximum time to wait for a response is configurable. The default is 10 seconds.

Syncer initiates a hotsync automatically each day at a specified time.
A different time can be specified for each day of the week.

All of the times can be set to the same value by using the "SET ALL" button on the right edge of the screen.

Syncer can be temporarily disabled by un-checking the checkbox.

Syncer was written to eliminate the frustration of reading yesterday's news because you forgot to sync your PDA that morning.

Description:
Most people think the HotSync will save the whole data contained on the Palm and this is enough to restore it after a power failure or other cause for data loss.

But the normal HotSync only saves the databases (all data/app is is internaly stored in databases) that has the so called "backup-bit" set.

Many 3rd party applications that store data on the palm do not set this bit, so the data isn´t HotSynced (I lost many SMSs and mails this way ...).

SyncAll fixes this problem.
SyncAll sets the backupbit of all databases every time the Palm is switched on (needs <1 second).

This causes the HotSync to save all (!) databases and not only some.

If you use SyncAll you could be sure to get back all the data after a data loss .... so better use it :)
