MDRD calculates GFR from the serum creatinine using the revised quadratic MDRD equation from Rule,AD, Annals of Internal Medicine 2004;141:929-936.
This equation has been found to be substantially more accurate than the original MDRD equation and the Cockoff and Gault equation.
